Raila’s son Fidel Odinga found dead in his bed #RIPFidelOdinga

A sad shocking Sunday morning it is as Kenyans woke up to the death of  Fidel Odinga, the eldest son of opposition leader Raila Odinga.

According to the police, Fidel was found dead in his Karen house  after a night out with friends.

His body is expected to been moved to the Lee Funeral Home. It is not yet clear what caused his death.

Meanwhile, messages of condolences from Kenyans and also leaders especially on social media continue to flock in to the family. Already, a Facebook page has been created in his memory with more than 800 likes as by 11:30am.

Director of Criminal Investigations Ndegwa Muhoro is leading a team of top detectives to Fidel’s home he says they are investigating his last moments.

The night before his death, Fidel is said to have been spotted  at popular high end hotel in Westlands in the company of friends.

Here is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s message to the family:

”It was with a deep sense of loss, sorrow and shock that I learnt of the death of the former Prime Minister’s son, Fidel. The passing of Fidel has robbed Kenya of a promising young man whose contribution to nation building will be missed by all. My condolences go out to the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his family. This is a big loss not only to you and your family but the entire country. On behalf of my family, the Government and the people of Kenya, and on my own behalf, please accept our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences. I pray that God grants you the strength and courage to bear this tragic loss”’.
